Take Five - Year One 2023!
I thought it was worth reflecting back on where I started with Take Five Beauty & Aesthetics in it’s first year.
My blog ‘The rebrand’ has explained how Take Five became, so if you’ve read that you will know I opened the doors to Take Five in April 2023, it has evolved over the year in small ways but that feel so big to me!
The rush of opening the salon with booked appointments meant the room had so many little things I needed to upgrade even from the beginning, I painted it a garish purple (YUCK!), My nail table was a bit of kitchen worktop with no where near enough space on it, it was soo high too, and the room was still a bit chilly when we had a cold spell so all these things needed addressing. It does show you that you can learn on the job and start your business anyhow so jump in!
When I first opened I had limited treatments, ultrasonic cavitation (body sculpting) was my ‘big one’ and then Eye brow shape, Eyebrow tint, Lash Lift & Lash Tint were the main treatments. I added on some facials such as microneedling, dermaplaning, skin peels and then manicures and pedicures. I thought this would be enough for me to take hold of, but it wasn’t I wanted to love everything I did and continue to learn.
Next in Take Five Beauty came Eye Lash extensions, I did this for about 6 months but I didn’t fall in love with it, this taught me a lesson of only do the things you truly love, a job should be enjoyable all the time (if possible!). Lemon bottle and fat dissolving came next swiftly followed by Microblading and Lip Blush semi permanent make up, I think I finally found my love, aesthetics and seeing peoples confidence with natural enhancements.
Filler and Anti-wrinkle was always something I had followed and been interested in, so naturally the more I was asked for this the temptation came for me to expand my knowledge so along came these treatments (Anti-wrinkle is possible my favourite thing still, I love seeing the results!)
To end 2023 and being 2024 I wanted my BIG dream to become a reality, I had deadlines and plans so In December I invested - we now have an incredible Medical grade Laser Machine that treats not only laser hair removal, but also Skin pigmentation such as sun spots, Vascular treatments such as thread veins and spider veins, Skin Rejuvenation Facials and Acne treatments. This has been a dream of mine since the start of Take Five and I am so excited to be ending this year on a high!
